Changan Automobile, founded in 1862 in Chongqing and transitioned into car manufacturing in the twentieth century, is today one of China's four largest state-owned automotive groups. Its technology strengths include the EPA (Electric Platform Architecture) and high-performance turbocharged engines. Changan is also the Chinese founding partner of the Avatr joint venture (with CATL and Huawei) and the parent company of the Deepal premium EV brand. In Egypt, Changan is distributed by GB Auto since 2021; the CS55 Plus was the first model locally assembled CKD in June 2025. Changan is available in Morocco through authorised dealers.
