The electrified picture, corrected
Naming heuristics badly under-count Chinese EVs because many electric models carry no "EV" token in their name. After a full energy audit of all 151 priced models, AutoChine Egypt's corrected breakdown is: 18 full battery EVs, 13 plug-in hybrids / range-extenders, 1 conventional hybrid, and 119 petrol. That is a far more electrified market than a naive name-scan suggests.
One terminology note: several "EREV/REEV" models — Li Auto, Deepal S07/S09/G318, DFSK E5 — drive the wheels electrically while a petrol engine acts only as an on-board generator. We group them with PHEVs as the plug-in bucket.
