In 30 seconds
Egypt's Chinese-car business runs through a few large groups — GB Auto (Ghabbour), the Mansour Group, Abou Ghaly, Al Kasrawy, Jameel Motors and a handful of others. That group, not the badge, decides your parts, warranty and resale experience.
Local CKD assembly is expanding (Chery, Changan, JAC, MG from Q3 2026) and generally beats fully imported CBU units on price stability and parts depth. Always get the warranty in writing before signing.
In Egypt, the importer is the product
When you buy a Chinese car in Egypt you are really buying into a distribution group. Parts availability, warranty honouring, software updates and resale value all depend on that group's network depth and longevity — far more than on the factory in China. AutoChine Egypt tracks 23 Chinese brands and 151 priced models; below is who actually stands behind each badge.

CKD vs CBU — why it changes ownership cost
CBU (Completely Built Unit) cars are built abroad and shipped whole. Their price and even their availability track import logistics and currency directly, and spare parts are imported the same way.
CKD (Completely Knocked Down) cars arrive as kits and are assembled in Egypt. Local assembly tends to stabilise pricing, deepen the local parts and trained-technician ecosystem, and signals a longer-term commitment by the group. In 2026 the clear CKD momentum is with Chery and Changan via GB Auto, JAC via Al Kasrawy, and MG via Al Mansour (from Q3 2026). BAIC's importer has an EV-assembly MoU in place.
Warranty: what is normal and what to verify
Chinese brands compete hard on warranty as a trust mechanism, the same way Korean brands did 15 years ago — long vehicle terms and a separate, longer high-voltage battery term for EV/PHEV models are the norm. But the exact figures, and crucially the conditions, vary by brand and change with each campaign, so a paper promise is only as good as the booklet you actually receive. Treat the term as a question to verify, never as a number to assume.
